Hitching a ride on the Martha White Bluegrass Bus

Sometimes after all the preparation for the event, I can be wound up pretty tight.  I must confess, I feel compelled to set up my homestead before I can really relax.  What about you?

Good poll  Wink

Coming to MerleFest will be a completely different build-up to festivals here at home.

Normally, as me & The Boy roll away with the jeep packed up then it's time to make noise - the music gets cranked up and air drums and air guitars are the order of the day if we get caught in traffic - nothing is going to get us down.

Once we arrive then everything slows down immediately. There has been a tradition at one festival in particular that the first refreshment should always take place before the tents go up so that we can ensure that we are adequately 'hydrated' (kinda) while we decide who is going where etc. (That's our excuse and it works for us)

After that, we generally know that we have approximately 16 hours before we actually need the tent so.... what's the rush ? In all honesty we generally get the tent up in double-quick time just so that we can really relax.

But to answer your question.... as soon as the engine is turned off at the campsite then all the cares of the world drop away.

I have been in the Merlefest Mood for some time now, but in the last few days it has really kicked in!  I'm ready!!!  Woo-Hoo!!!  (My poor husband, he's not quite as excitable as me, and he has to deal with this for the next month!)  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
But, once we get to the campsite, refreshment is necessary before any setting up is done.

It's Wednesday for me. I have been told by my staff at work I'm worthless the whole week prior to MF, so I might as well take off Monday!

I'm lucky in that I don't have to travel or set up a camp site. I just start concentrating on the music and making sure none of my relatives want to come visit.
