WELCOME TO 2010... MerleFest 2010 is just over the horizon !

It may be a little late but better late than never so .... Happy New Year to all FestivalDirt'ers

Hopefully 2010 will be another great year of music and MerleFest 2010 is just over the horizon and just this week two additions to the line-up have been announced. The Grammy-nominated Zac Brown Band and the marvellous (and Grammy-winning) Taj Mahal. The addition of Taj Mahal to the line-up is already creating a buzz (and rightly so).

Wherever you get your music this year - we hope it's everything that you wish for. Whether you are listening to new bands, established artists, finding new festivals, venues, workshops or great places to buy Darjeeling tea then we hope that you will join us here on the pages of FestivalDirt and share your discoveries.

Wishing you the finest year in every respect... fom the FestivalDirt Team

WELCOME to FestivalDirt.com!!!  We’re glad you’re here.

Get yourself registered and logged in so you can talk about your favorite music festival!!

In the very near future, we will begin adding other festivals to the forum, with each having their own little sections for discussion.  We’d like this forum to become a sort of “catch all” for informal festival discussion, with room for pictures too!!  If you’d like a festival added, please contact one of the Admins with the basic information and we’ll do what we can, as soon as we can, to get it all set up!

We request that you not only write posts, but READ all posts with an open mind, and remember…..it’s better to ASK what someone meant, than to attack for what you THINK they meant!  There will be NO blatant attacks allowed on the forum and the offending members will be dealt with accordingly.  This includes flaming on any level and just being down right mean!

Remember…..we’re here to have some fun talking about MUSIC festivals!!  So let’s all be friendly, happy, and well….GIDDY OVER THE MUSIC!!!

Enjoy your stay and continue to spread the word that we're here! Once again..... Welcome to FestivalDirt.com!!

**This forum is not affiliated in any way, shape or form to ANY festival we might discuss, their sponsors, nor their hosting locations.  We’re simply here to meet new folks, talk about our favorite festivals, ask for and receive information and advice, and have a little fun!!

Sounds like there will be an excellent opportunity to see some up-close-and-personal music at Cook Park in Todd soon.  If you have the opportunity, you might want to check out this one...

"For a more spectator-like adventure, plop in a lawn chair at Cook Park in Todd any Saturday afternoon from June 21 to Aug. 9 for concerts in the Todd Summer Music Series, which features local bluegrass and Americana music, including an annual show by Doc Watson Aug. 9"

Interesting article about how the town of Manchester, TN is handling the growth of the Bonnaroo festival.
Many people have a "love it or hate it" attitude towards Bonnaroo, but regardless of which side you're on, there is certainly something to me learned about handing growth here.
